Some of these options under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program are base streams and others are enhanced streams. Enhanced are those that are aligned with the Express Entry system, a Federal Immigration program that manages three key economic immigration intakes in Canada. 

Candidates seeking provincial nomination under the OINP, are required to submit an Expression of Interest. Based on the score in the Ontario PNP points calculator, and the details provided in the EOI. Candidates securing nomination under this enhanced stream are automatically awarded 600 points in the CRS – effectively guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply for Canada PR. 

Base streams are not aligned with the Express Entry. In order to immigrate under one, candidates are required to directly apply to the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). 

Eligible candidates under the OINP are issued ITAs in a draw, conducted on a bi-monthly basis.
